I am Srijha Kalyan, a computer science engineering student just starting my Master’s Program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Northeastern University.

I have graduated from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and Engineering with First Class Distinction (8.5/10) in the year 2020. Coming from a biology and math background, I always had the inquisitive idea of correlating the engineering data connecting biology and human life with computers. I was fascinated with the idea of how computers were designed to think like humans to make decisions and how neural networks were designed to act like a human brain. Consequently, this fueled my curiosity to learn more in the field of machine learning. The path-breaking evolution in this field over the years has made me perceive the potential of how AI and data science can revolutionize the field of technology. This was my moment of realization that lead me to pursue my Master’s in AI.

Research

My interests lie in data science, big data, natural language processing, and deep learning. I am currently focussing on delving deeper into the aspects of using Transformers in the Heathcare domain as well as carrying out research with Sastra College of Engineering, Tamilnadu, India on improving Visual Aids using AI. Additionaly, I am building a strong in-depth knowledge in Data Science and Big Data.
